Chiropractic is literally a "hands-on" science requiring the training and clinical experience of the practitioner who forms his or her scientific diagnosis through a blend of testing and observation. The primary sources of neck and back pain, as well as headaches, are within the spinal column's vertebrae when they become misaligned or moved abnormally through injury or problems related to the musculoskeletal structure. This condition, called subluxation, requires skillful spinal and joint adjustments to move the misaligned vertebrae back into place. Chiropractors are the only trained healthcare professionals qualified for such procedures.
When a patient visits our wellness center, Drs. Steve and Vanessa first explain the science behind chiropractic, and then perform an evaluation to help determine what treatment methods would be beneficial. Our Buford chiropractors will create a customized treatment plan to target and relieve a patient’s pain. At our wellness center, a treatment plan can include corrective exercises, lifestyle advice, nutritional counseling, and massage therapy. These components are typically in addition to the spinal screenings to ensure spinal health.

Dr. Nutty is a native of Central New York, but has lived in the southeast since 2007. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Utica College of Syracuse University. While attending Utica College Steve was a four year member of the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey team as well as a three year member of the NCAA Golf team. Dr. Nutty attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C. where he graduated in 2011 with honors. At Sherman Steve was a member of the Dean's list, Presidents list, and an active member of the Upper cervical club. Dr. Steve was the recipient of the prestigious Lenfest Scholarship, given to only one student per calender year. While attending Sherman College Dr. Nutty continued his passion for athletics as the head coach for Clemson Universities Men's Ice Hockey team from 2008-2011, as well as volunteering with the local youth hockey associations. Dr. Steve is looking forward to serving the community of Gwinnett county and bringing subluxation based chiropractic to the greater Atlanta area.
Dr. Vanessa Watkins
buford@100percentchiropractic.comDr. Vanessa Watkins is a native of Gwinnett County, GA and grew up in Snellville. After spending her undergraduate years at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, and then living in South Carolina, she is excited and grateful to be home in the Peach State with the opportunity to serve her home-base community.
While attending GC&SU, Dr. Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was active with Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national community service organization.
Dr. Vanessa is a graduate of Sherman College of Chiropractic, where she was a member of the Dean’s list, a school docent, co-founder and vice president of the New Beginnings Philosophy student club, a member of the Academy of Chiropractic Excellence interns, awarded intern of the month, and served as a Senior Intern, a peer-based teaching program.
Dr. Vanessa started her career in Wellness and Health as a veterinary technician, where she was first introduced to chiropractic care and the amazing way it allows the body to heal itself from the inside, out.
In addition to providing subluxation and philosophy-based, family oriented Wellness care through 100% Chiropractic, Dr. Vanessa is an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
Dr. Vanessa continues to serve her community as a member and page of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, whose mission and purpose is to promote education, patriotism, and historic preservation. Dr. Vanessa also serves as a Senior President for the local Allen Howard Society, National Society Children of the American Revolution, where she helps the national society fulfill its mission to “train good citizens, develop leaders and promote love of the U.S.A. and its heritage among young people”.
